to the North Pole... and beyond!

In October I found out I needed some dental work done, so instead of having some random dentist do it, I decided to have Gibb, my brother-in-law who is a great dentist, do it instead. This meant that I had to go visit Jordana and Gibb in their new house in Fort McMurray. Not only that, my trip happened to fall on Canadian Thanksgiving and Jordana's birthday, so it really couldn't have been more perfect!

I met Jordana and Gibb in Edmonton at Gibb's parents house, where we stayed for a couple of days. Then we drove up to Fort McMurray for the rest of the week. It went by way too quickly, but we had a great time and I finally got to meet Kepler and see Jayna again!

For those of you who don't know where Fort McMurray is, if you drive north from Edmonton for about 5 1/2 hours, it's the last city before the paved road ends and becomes and ice road in the winter. Yup, I actually went that far north voluntarily, and I was excited about it. It's not the farthest north I've ever been (Stockholm wins that prize), but it's definitely up there.
